Grand Finale : dream come true!

And the special day has arrived! Yesterday, March 20, the Grand Finale  of the Youtube Symphony Orchestra. Read more here and here.

In the photo above, Pedro, the Portuguese musician who played trumpet is the 4th from the left side.

Last year, 2010, he was one of the 101 musicians from 33 countries who uploaded videos to YouTube of themselves auditioning for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra 2011.

"December 2010! Chosen with the help of leading orchestras around the world and the YouTube community, the musicians have finally made it to the end of their journey to perform in an extraordinary concert conducted by Grammy-award winning YouTube Symphony Orchestra Artistic Advisor, Michael Tilson Thomas, and streamed live on YouTube directly from Sydney Opera House."

Education:

A wonderful digital project based on music that provided an increadible experience in music education to many young people from over the world.

A project to share with students in the Music classroom! It can inspire some of your students to study more and more in order to join the new group of musicians of YouTube Symphony Orchestra in 2012.

" Young people can learn from my example that something can come for nothing. What I have become is the result of my  hard efforts."

Franz Joseph Haydn

Music is not yet a major value in school curriculum in the elementary and secondary schools. But music is a fundamental part in education of young people.

We must take Music curricula seriously!
